One fine morning I woke up to chirping of 2 birds. They were constantly inspecting my house. The very next morning I saw a small bird sitting on the floor mopping cloth hanging in my balcony. I came to know that it was trying to build a nest(aashiyana) on that piece of cloth.
I asked my mother not to remove that cloth from there. She was skeptical at starting, how can a nest be built on a hanging cloth. I just requested her to watch for few days.
I kept tracking the bird. It was tirelessly bringing in the materials and stitching the nest slowly. The bird will start it's routine at 5 in the morning and constantly work till 6 in the evening. Whenever it saw someone in balcony it will wait outside on a wire and constantly chirp till that person goes inside. And after 4 days it finally completed it's nest.
My mother was really amazed to see the nest, how perfectly it was stitched on the cloth.
This incident made me think that in life we have started taking things for granted. We move away from hard work, patience and grit. We settle for something which we do not want. We hardly make efforts toward our dreams, our relationships and our life. We are just simply passing our days and not living our life. Life is about dreaming and working hard to achieve those dreams. It's really fine to not achieve what we desire and it it is really fine to fail but it is not okay to not try.
So try, work hard, dedicate your time and energy towards your dreams. For me that's the purpose of life.
One more thing which I learned from this incidence was that the bird was constantly bringing things which it gets from nature. Humans like all other living beings were made to be with nature. But look what we have made of ourselves. We consider luxury as living in houses made of bricks. We hardly intract with nature. We started owning lands, trees, rivers, etc. resulting in inequality. What was available to all for free is now owned. Is this what is life?
So my second message is spend some time with nature. Travel a lot. Give more than you take. Spread love and keep living.
